It’s Personal is Brown Hill’s very personal second album which he also produced himself this time with his Miller& BrownFish production team and which none other than Jan Akkerman and Edison winner Tineke Postma participated. After Brown’s first performance of his edited version of Jan Akkerman’s Streetwalker in a packed Nile hall at the North Sea Jazz Festival, the song was immediately proclaimed as ‘’Schijf van 6” and placed on the A list.

At the end of September, It’s Personal was launched at a fully packed album release party at Panama in Amsterdam and close friend and fan Sylvana Simons handed Brown its first self-produced album and afterwards Brownhill and his Soul Power Band put the whole place upside down.

Moreover, the band also consists solely of top notch musicians from the first hour as Coen Molenaar on keys, Jeroen Vierdag on bass, Robert Biesewig on drums and Hugo Vis on guitar. This is supplemented with the best backing vocalists in the Netherlands and the inimitable MC Shockwave on raps guarantees a Soul Boost again reminiscent of the Motown and Stax era. Meanwhile, the album reached the 18th position in the Album Top 100 and has been named as ‘’World Album’’ by NTR Radio 5 and ‘’Album of the Week’’ by Sterren.nl of Tros as well.

The new single “Waitin’In Vain” is the soft touch of the album and many people have blinked away a tear when hearing this song. It was a long cherished wish of Brown to bring this Bob Marley classic in its own way. The master hand of Coen Molenaar, who also was responsible for the wing work on “Heaven” by Do, combined with Brown Hill’s voice have already elicited responses from around the world and we would like to receive your feedback, therefore we add the single to this mailing.
Brown Hill will be performing on the Holland Got Soul Festival at Paradiso on January 7 and on “The Other Businessman Gala” on December 10 at the Passengers Terminal in Amsterdam. In addition, a music video of Brown Hill’s new single will be released and Brown will make its appearance in many radio shows.
